I had first learned about CrossFit Type workouts about two years ago, and have been eager to try it ever since, and now it’s finally in Lima. For the past 3 years I have worked out 3-5 times a week at a local gym and in the past couple months leading into my first CrossFit workout I was starting to feel like I was in a rut and not making many gains, hence losing my motivation to workout. Since I have Started CrossFit I have lost several inches from my waist, noticed more definition in my Arms, Legs, and Chest, I am constantly getting stronger as well as improving flexibility and coordination. The coaching provided by Gwen and Tina is amazing, they work with you throughout the entire workout to make sure you are using correct form and take the time to help you correct your faults if you are not. However the best part of CrossFit to me is the Team atmosphere, everyone pushes each other to be the best that they can be at every workout, constantly being supportive and encouraging of each other to get that next Rep, and finishing the WOD. This type of atmosphere makes you want to keep coming to class after class because you find yourself not wanting to disappoint yourself or the other athletes. I highly recommend CrossFit to anyone that is looking to improve their fitness, regardless of their current abilities. All of the workouts can be modified to your capabilities and you will eventually work your way up to the next level, to be the best that you can.
